The Network
Everything runs on the signal — the shared frequency the whole network rides on. You boot up as an operator inside NEURØWAVE OS, neural interface initializing, and the first thing the system tells you is that something has gone very wrong:
⚠ MEMORY CORRUPTION DETECTED — NEURØWAVE SIGNAL: SEVERED LAST KNOWN LOCATION: NEON SLUMS — SECTOR 7 DIRECTIVE: FIND THE OTHERS. REACH THE CORE.

Of your roster of agents, only YOSHINO wakes online. The rest are offline, location unknown, their memory corrupted and scattered across the network. You wake in the slums of Sector 7 because that's where the trace started — and the only way out is down, toward the CORE.
Train the network, fracture the signal
It's a roguelite, so the network forgets between runs — the route, the shops, the drops all reshuffle. What persists is what you learn and the permanent progression you bank. You train the network (leveling agents, stacking upgrades, recovering the others) and fracture the signal (every stun, every anomaly, every heavy hit forcing a crack in the corruption).
Wards & sectors
The descent runs through 99 wards, grouped into four regions — the Deep Block, Corp, Apex, and the Core. The lower wards are slum stack; the towers above belong to APEX CORP, who treat the bottom as a soak test for whatever they're piloting up top. Between fights you surface at transit stations to spend credits, drink at the bar, and talk to the locals.
At the very bottom, something old is still logged in and refuses to be shut down. See the Acts.
